My wife, Jeanie and I were born and raised in Murfreesboro, TN and graduated from old Central High School. I went to MTSU for a year or so and then to Vietnam as a member of the Navy. Jeanie was attending MTSU. When I returned home from Vietnam, I went to work for a local utility company while trying to convince Jeanie to marry me. She said yes and we were married in 1970. While I was working, Jeanie finished at MTSU and became a teacher at a local Christian school.
In 1975, I was approached by a local established contractor to become a partner in his home building company in Smyrna. During my time building homes, I built our family home – the home where we raised our three children and where Jeanie and I still live today. After successfully building homes for a few years, I was introduced to the insurance restoration business. In 1977, I started R Warren Construction. We have been doing insurance restoration and general contracting work for over 40 years.

Russ Hicks and crew did the work on my parents house. They were professional and very easy to get along with. Very little went wrong, but when something did they fixed it, no question asked or excuses. We would recommend them 100%. Russ and team can’t thank you enough.
We had a washing machine service line fail inside the laundry room and we were gone from the house about 6 hrs. It flooded half the first floor and the crawl space.
R. Warren responded immediately that evening and into the nigh with an incredible water mitigation team! They were courteous, professional, empathetic and caring….and they attacked the problem with the urgency of a homeowner. After 4 days of water mitigation and constant survey and monitoring, I was EXTREMELY CONFIDENT that they did the job right and that we would could proceed with restoration without fear of long term problems.
R. Warren was the lead contractor for the repairs; they did a superb job getting sub-contractors into the house to do the work. They also took lead with the insurance company. Flawless!
As with any repair of this magnitude, there is always the opportunity to do some upgrades…in our case changing carpet to hardwood. R. Warren rolled with the change orders even when we went with our own flooring guy because they could better match the stain of the rest of the house.
Sure, we had a few bumps in the road; it isn’t easy to get sub-contractors. But they kept us informed and completed the work as fast as they could muster the right teams with the right skills and materials.
